Can York give cash assistance?
York is not an assisted area and cannot offer cash incentives to encourage your company to move here. However, the experience of organisations who have moved to York is that highly competitive property and labour costs, assistance with recruitment and training, and the invaluable practical help from our experienced team, outweigh the one-off grants available in some disadvantaged regions.
-
Can York accommodate a major requirement, e.g. 500,000 square feet?
There are a range of options for such major requirments and we would be delighted to talk further about the opportunities available.
-
Are short-term leases / flexible terms available?
Yes - although this usually depends on the attitude of the developer or owner concerned. Let us know what you need and we will match this with the best deals available.

How can I get advice after relocation?
Our support doesn't end when you make a decision to move to York. We firmly believe that key staff need to feel welcome when they consider moving here.
As a result, a Relocation Advisory Service has been developed with City of York Council's Economic Development Unit to work with you in meeting the needs of incoming staff and their families. The service has been used by the Central Science Laboratory (CSL), the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Smith & Nephew, Consort-Best Western, Norwich Union Life, the Department for Employment and Education (DfEE), the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
